What background was most represented in Clarksdale Collegiate schools in 2021-22 school year?

Black students made up 93.1% of the 450 students enrolled in Clarksdale Collegiate schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 36.5% increase over the previous school year.

Clarksdale Collegiate had the highest enrollment in the district with 450 students.

A snapshot of Clarksdale Collegiate schools showed 93.1% of students were Black and 5.6% white.

Clarksdale Collegiate roughly covers one school within Coahoma County and has a main office in Clarksdale.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
