What background was most represented in Holly Springs School District schools in 2021-22 school year?

Black students made up 92.5% of the 1,076 students enrolled in Holly Springs School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 5.1% decrease from the previous school year.

Holly Springs Primary School had the highest enrollment in the district with 358 students.

A snapshot of Holly Springs School District schools showed 92.5% of students were Black, 1.5% were white, and 0.9% multiracial.

Holly Springs School District roughly covers four schools within Marshall County and has a main office in Holly Springs.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
