74.4% of Desoto County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 183,220 citizens living in Desoto County in 2021, 74.4% were old enough to vote, equating to 136,226 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 64,567 were male, constituting 47.4%, and 71,659 were female, making up 52.6%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Desoto County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 76.2%.
