The Desoto County Animal Shelter announced on April 9 that it will hold a Vaccination and Testing Event for residents from Thursday, April 23 through Saturday, April 25. The event will take place at the shelter located at 1251 Humane Way in Nesbit.

The event is designed to offer affordable pet care services to DeSoto County residents. During the three-day period, attendees can access dog and cat vaccines for $10 each, microchipping for $10, canine heartworm testing for $10, and feline FeLK/Fiv testing for $15.

Hours of operation are set for Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents with questions about the services or scheduling are encouraged to call the shelter at (662) 469-8004.

According to organizers, these low-cost options aim to support pet health across the county by making essential veterinary care more accessible.

The initiative reflects ongoing efforts by local authorities to promote responsible pet ownership and improve animal welfare in DeSoto County.
