DeSoto County Supervisors and the DeSoto County Road Department worked with MDOT to resolve flooding on MS-305. Because 305 is a state road, it is maintained by the Mississippi Department of Transportation. A resident reached out to Supervisor Michael Lee for help to resolve the flooding south of Cole Road.
Supervisor Lee and the Road Manager worked with MDOT’s engineers to come up with a plan to resolve the repeated flooding. The solution? MDOT installed a drain and culvert to better direct the flow of water. “I want residents to know that their Supervisors are here for them,” said Supervisor Lee. “I welcome everyone to reach out to me if they need assistance.”
Supervisors saw the need to expand the county’s Stormwater Management. They recently expanded the department and created a new section of the county’s webpage. You can report stormwater issues and learn more about the county’s Stormwater program by going to www.desotocountyms.gov/754/Stormwater-Management.
