The Lady Tigers defeat ICC 67-52'
The CCC women's basketball team picked up another conference win on Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers are now 4-1 in home games this season.
Coahoma's Janiya Jones scored 11 points in the opening half, and CCC led 27-24 at halftime.
Jones, Tiara Abron, and Jamyia Bowen tallied 16 points in the third quarter, while ICC recorded 14. Going into the fourth quarter, the Maroon and White led 47-38.
Elishia Wilson scored eight points in the final quarter, while Jones registered six. For the second-straight quarter; CCC outscored Itawamba 20-14. Coahoma won the game 67-52.
Janiya Jones tallied six 3-pointers, and led all scorers with 25 points. Jones also recorded five steals.
Tiara Abron, Jamyia Bowen, and Elishia Wilson each scored in double figures for Coahoma.
The Lady Tigers are now 7-3 (3-0 MACCC) this season; ICC is 8-5 (0-4 MACCC).
Coahoma's next game will be at Meridian on Thursday, Jan. 19. That matchup is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
