4.3% of DeSoto County residents considered unemployed in 2021

DeSoto County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.3% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 4,107 people out of the 183,220 living in DeSoto County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in DeSoto County has decreased compared to the 4.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in DeSoto County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.8%.

Of the 92,273 people who had a job during that time, 352 were employed in the Armed Forces and 91,921 belonged to the civilian labor force.
