The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office announced on March 10 that several individuals appeared in Tunica County Justice Court following a series of shootings over the weekend. The suspects face charges including attempted murder, drive-by shooting, and unlawful discharge of a firearm within a populated area.
The update comes after multiple incidents between March 7 and March 9 in Robinsonville and Tunica, Mississippi, which resulted in several people being injured by gunfire. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may be made related to gang involvement and retaliations.
According to the press release, Darius Robinson and Antonio Allen were each issued bonds of $81,000 for charges including attempted murder. Mylon Done received a bond of $101,000 for similar charges plus felony fleeing. Jon Talton (JT) Carter was denied bond and is charged with attempted murder. The sheriff’s office said these bonds were ordered by Judge Richard Wes Ryals.
The incidents began late Saturday night when deputies responded to a shooting on Fitzgerald Boulevard where Jaylin Liddell was found with a gunshot wound. Additional shootings occurred early Sunday at locations including Tunica River Park, Waffle House on US Highway 61, Prichard Road in the Old Sub area, Gay Street in Tunica, and Curtistine Drive. Victims included Recovyon Reed, Deonte Taylor, Ceedrick Wheeler, Khritavious Magsby, and Mario Lester—all treated for gunshot wounds at area hospitals.
During one incident involving shots fired on Prichard Road, deputies pursued a fleeing vehicle into DeSoto County where it crashed; three occupants—Allen, Done, and Robinson—were apprehended after attempting to flee on foot. Multiple firearms were recovered from their vehicle.
Authorities also reported that some individuals are out on bond pending ongoing investigations into previous violent crimes. These include Jaylin Liddell ($50,000 bond for second-degree murder), Deonte Taylor ($25,000 bond for multiple capital murder charges), Ceedrick Wheeler ($25,000 bond for aggravated assault), Mario Lester ($100,000 bond for murder), and Antonio Allen ($35,000 bond for conspiracy).
The sheriff’s office is working with local police departments as well as state and federal agencies such as the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The investigation remains active with authorities urging anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
Officials said further arrests may occur as they continue to investigate possible gang-related motives behind the shootings.
