Streate’s Ten Assists, Craven’s 24 Points Lift Bearcats Back To .500 In GCAC Play
The Rust College men's basketball program saw Damonte Streate flirt with an unorthodox double-double and Davonte Craven lead all scorers as Coach Poindexter's club has won three of its last four with a comfortable 84-64 victory at Southern-New Orleans to start conference action at 3-3.
The men from Mississippi took care of the rock, doubling up the Knights in the turnover department by forcing 18 mistakes while committing just nine.
Streate stuffed the scorebook with an unprecedented ten assists, nine points and six steals while not stepping off the floor all game long.
Craven went for 24 points on 8-of-11 (72.7%) shooting, just missing a double-double himself with nine boards, both contest-highs, to go along with a trio of steals and the lone block.
Jayden Stephens and Kris Huntsman each dropped a dozen points apiece, combining to go 10-for-24 (41.7%) with 14 rebounds, two assists, plus a steal with the latter being turnover-free.
