White had the largest percent of student body in Tate County schools in 2020-2021 school year

Of the 3,773 students enrolled in Tate County schools in 2020-2021, 50.8% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Tate County students.

This is a 0.7% decrease from the previous school year.

Senatobia Elementary School had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2020-2021 school year.

A snapshot of Tate County schools showed 50.8% students were White, 41.3% were Black or African American, 3.7% were Hispanic or Latino and 1.8% were Two or More Races.

There are nine schools in Tate County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
