Black had the largest percent of student body in Clarksdale Municipal School District schools in 2021-22 school year

Black students made up 86.7% of the 2,108 students enrolled in Clarksdale Municipal School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 15.3% decrease from the previous school year.

Clarksdale High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 464 students.

A snapshot of Clarksdale Municipal School District schools showed 86.7% of students were Black and 13.3% were multiracial.

Clarksdale Municipal School District roughly covers seven schools within Coahoma County and has a main office in Clarksdale.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
