Black had the largest percent of student body in Tunica County School District schools in 2021-22 school year

Black students made up 69% of the 1,667 students enrolled in Tunica County School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 32.1% decrease from the previous school year.

Rosa Fort High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 453 students.

A snapshot of Tunica County School District schools showed 69% of students were Black and 31% were multiracial.

Tunica County School District roughly covers three schools within Tunica County and has a main office in Tunica.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
